As the focus of shopping moves from traditional outlets in the high street of a typical English town and many of the best known stores and shops are moving from town centres, they are being replaced by new styles of shops.
The ubiquitous fast food places, which seem to be mushrooming in every town, are being matched in the speed of their deployment by ‘money shops.’ And, rather like the burger and pizza joints they share the high streets with, the money shops offer their customers instant gratification and fast service.

And just as with the fast food stores, it is to your advantage to shop around for the best possible deal. Walk into a typical Money Shop on a typical English high street , the services you will be offered include a cheque cashing service, pay day cash advance, and unsecured loans, all available for the client who walks in off the street.
These Money Shops tend to offer the customer services that are identical, but the shopper should be wary and be prepared to make the best choice. The Money Shops can charge wildly different rates, so it is advisable to find the most competitive one.
What has made the Money Shop popular is the same thing which entices people into fast food outlets, their convenience. Instead of waiting the standard seven days for your bank to cash a cheque, instead you can take it into a Money Shop and have the cash in your hand almost immediately. The fact you receive your money so quickly alleviates the bother of having a commission deducted. The customer could, however, enjoy a greater benefit by taking the time to find a Money Shop which charges a lower fee for their cheque cashing services.
All financial institutions have to ensure their fees are clearly stated to it is easy for the customer to compare the fees being charged by the companies. Of course the money shops will not cash personal cheques but they will, subject to obvious security precautions, cash cheques from insurance companies, the Department of Social Security and the Inland Revenue.
